Crataegus monogyna (Hawthorn or Quickthorn) is a native bushy shrub or small tree with a dense twiggy habit. Produces fragrant white flowers in May followed by red fruits in autumn. Makes an excellent native hedge that can be trimmed to any shape or size required. Makes a fine hedge on its own or use as a main plant in mixed native hedges.

Plant a single row, 4 plants per metre.

For a thicker hedge, plant a staggered double row, 6 plants to the metre.
