Malus sylvestris (Wild Crabapple) is a deciduous native tree. Small round headed tree with green leaves and clusters of white and pink tinged flowers , followed by yellow/green crab apples which are suitable for making jelly. Not suited to wet sites . Grows 2 feet per year when young. Mainly used in mixed hedges.

For a thicker hedge, plant a staggered double row, 6 plants to the metre.
