Information
Taxus baccata (Yew) is a large evergreen native conifer, often seen growing wild in chalky soils. Possibly the best of all hedging plants. Suitable for hedges of all sizes. Needs a well drained soil and is reasonably quick growing in fertile soils. Grows from 6 - 18 inches per year. Best trimmed in late summer or early autumn. Makes an excellent topiary plant.
